Epic
Games ha decidido denunciar ante la justicia al probador que filtró en las
redes sociales información sobre el capítulo dos de Fortnite. Una decisión que
ha sido provocada por los grandes perjucios que ha causado esta filtración a la
empresa, la cuál llevaba meses creando hype entre sus usuarios.
Una demanda, que ha sido presentada en los juzgados del estado de Carolina del Norte contra Ronald Sykes y en la que la compañía pone de manifiesto que Ronald ha incumplido el acuerdo de confidencialidad que firmó en el mes de septiembre, cuando fue contratado como probador del segundo capítulo del juego.
¿Qué es lo que hizo exactamente?
Según
el documento que han presentado ante el tribunal los abogados de Epic Game,
Sykes utilizo Twitter para revelar gran cantidad de detalles sobre las novedades
de las que los usuarios iban a disfrutar en este nuevo capítulo.
En
la demanda se alega que mediante la utilización de diferentes cuentas, cuyas IP
correspondían con Ronald Sykes, se expuso ante los usuarios de Twitter el nuevo
mapa de Fortnite, los nuevos vehículos que iban a aparecer en esta nueva aventuras
o que se podían conseguir mediante determinados requisitos…etc.
De
hecho en la demanda se asegura que Sykes se enriqueció con la información que
había adquirido a través de su experiencia como testeador. Por ello han solicitado
una compensación por los daños que ha causado (seguro que no le va a salir nada
barato), así como la destrucción de todos los secretos y sus copias, que pueda
tener en su poder.
Desconocemos qué es lo
que ha alegado Sykes en su defensa, pero siendo las leyes de los Estados Unidos
tan duras, imaginamos que poco puede hacer para librarse de pagar una elevada indemnización
a Epic Games. Romper este tipo de acuerdos, salvo que tengas una posición económica
elevada que te permita pagar a un buen abogado, suele costar miles de dólares.
